The Odyssey™ product family from Wavesat allows customers to keep pace with the rapidly evolving broadband wireless technologies such as WiMAX Wave2, WiFi, and XG-PHS and to migrate seamlessly to future 4G technologies such as LTE.
Powered by a unique multimode, programmable architecture, this broadband product family provides the performance combined with the flexibility to preserve investment while responding to multiple technologies. Designers normally have to make a trade off between performance, flexibility and cost but at Wavesat we’ve eliminated this. Our intelligent architecture sets the standard for integration, performance, size and cost while still ensuring low power consumption. At the same time, the programmability of our architecture provides the flexibility to respond to the requirements of evolving standards and integrating new wireless technologies as they emerge.
Built on an all encompassing SOC which combines a software-programmable radio and CPE MAC engine, PowerPC® host processor, system memory and a comprehensive set of physical interfaces, the Odyssey family facilitates high system integration and minimizes design footprint. With an advanced embedded DRAM technology that requires no external memory, customers save valuable real estate, cost and power consumption for very small form-factor mobile applications such as USB dongles, Minicards, Express cards, mobile handsets and other consumer electronic devices.
